Top 5 Nashville Coffee Shops for Writing

Here’re my review of the top five coffee spots in Nashville if you’re wanting to write, read, or study by yourself for an hour or two. I grew up in Nashville and some weeks I visit these spots daily.

Avoid these if you’re writing:

Fido
★☆☆☆☆

The only outlets that work are the hightops by the door. If you aren’t one of the lucky ones, your laptop will run to its death. It’s also a social place with lots of walkers.

Frothy Monkey
★☆ ☆ ☆ ☆

Good enviroment for kids, lunch meetings, and light reading, but not many people hardcore study or write here. I always feel like I’m expected to buy a tuna sandwich. Could use more outlets as well.

Bongo Java, East
★★☆☆

This is great for meetings, but there is just one open sitting area, which kind of feels like a cafeteria.

Starbucks
★ ★☆ ☆ ☆

Starbucks is super convenient because it’s everywhere, but do some pre-planning and support our local businesses while writing in an enviroment that will better spark your creativity and keep you rooted in your community.
